A 16% increase in exports, with total exports reaching $5.601 billion in the first seven months of 2024, surpassing the total from the same period last year, has been reported for building materials, refractories, metal industries, and construction. Additionally, exports from Egypt’s metal industries sector surged by 25%, reaching $4.052 billion from January to July 2024, which is greater than the amount recorded in the same months last year.
The growth in exports was driven by significant increases in several categories: gold, jewelry, and precious stones saw a 118% rise; copper grew by 40%; pipes increased by 76%; aluminum by 16%; marble and granite by 6%; and insulating materials by 42%.
